How to salvage what’s left of it

Raise Your Hand If You Had a Good 2020

So cool yet so HOT!  Read why snow monkeys had a good 2020.  And see how you can salvage what’s left of you’re 2020 by getting what’s hot.
Snow Monkeys had a fantastic 2020.  While us humans, their distant genetic relatives, were sheltering in place, wearing masks and social distancing, snow monkeys were partying and getting real cozy with each other.
“Social distancing” is not even in their vocabulary. (In truth, Snow Monkeys have a limited vocabulary consisting of “ooo-ooo-ooo”and “mah-GAAAK!”)
They had a good year.  So did others.  Well, a few others.

How was your 2020?

Take this brief survey:
For me the year 2020 was:
(a)  Outstanding
(b)  Just so-so
(c)  The worst year in the history of all of my years
(d)  A hellish nightmare
Who could have possibly answered (a) Outstanding?

We did some research.  Besides Snow Monkeys, we found others that had an outstanding 2020.

Eric. The guy that started Zoom.

Yeah.  He had a pretty decent year.
His name is Eric Yuan.  He’s a Chinese born American founder and CEO of Zoom.  His stock went public in April of 2019, offered at $36 a share.  Today it’s going for $355 a share.  Eric owns 22% of Zoom.   Eric is pretty happy.
You could have had a better year if you had the foresight to purchase about a thousand shares of Zoom back in April 2019.  Or Moderna would have been good, too.    Let’s just hope you didn’t put all your money in Royal Caribbean stock.

Murder Hornets.   They had a stellar 2020.

We may have missed out on travel, but Murder Hornets didn’t.  They traveled without going through security checks, or getting a long swab stuck up their snouts to get tested, or having to wear masks.  None of the hassles that we have to deal with traveling.  These feisty little bastards traveled all the way overseas to get to the US, and they’re not even supposed to bee here. (Get it?  Bee.  HA!)

Fermenting Microbes.

2020 was a banner year for sourdough starter.  These blobs of fermenting bacteria and yeasts flourished and grew in many kitchens, overtaking jars and bowls and spilling onto counters and floors.   Not since the middle ages have these sticky, stinky organisms been so abundant.

How was our year at Horn Photo?

Thank you for asking!
It started out amazing!  The cash registers were so busy, they almost caught on fire.
January’s Clicking Caravan at Heartbeat Boxing was our best one ever.  Our sales, our community events, and our level of excitement was off the charts. What a way to start the new decade, or end the old one.  Not sure which applies.  Anyway, we were shouting, “2020 here we come.  It’s going to be a great year!”
Then it all came to a screeching halt, and we had to close for awhile.  When we re-opened, we had to make significant changes to our business.
Thanks to our dedicated staff and our wonderful and loyal customers who opted to buy local, Horn Photo survived and even remained robust through 2020.
How can you salvage what’s left of 2020 and have it end on a high note?  Check out our 12 hottest items.  These cameras and lenses are our very bestsellers, and we have them in stock.  Then go ahead and put 2020 in the dumpster where it belongs and prepare for a better 2021.
