Bandit Town
Ever heard of Bandit Town? This charming collection of Old West-style buildings might look historic, but it was actually built as a movie set for Westerns. In 2013, a new owner envisioned it as a lively spot for drinkin’, dancin’, and eatin’. It even became a wedding venue, complete with a cute little chapel, and the saloon would open on select days. Today, Bandit Town sits mostly unused. While you can’t drive in, you can walk around and snap some photos—like we did! (And no, we didn’t get kicked out.) Located near North Fork, it’s easy to reach. Pro tip: Visit early or late in the day, or anytime it’s cloudy. The trees create dappled light that can make photography tricky on sunny days.
